Commercial HVAC Service Technician

Capital Region, NY

Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Primarily 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

What You'll Do

✅ Install, service, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment

✅ Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, gas, and refrigeration system issues

✅ Service rooftop units, boilers, walk-in coolers/freezers, and commercial refrigeration systems

✅ Perform preventive maintenance inspections and system testing

✅ Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals

✅ Communicate professionally with customers regarding repairs and recommendations

✅ Complete service reports, work orders, and required documentation

✅ Follow OSHA, lockout/tagout, and safety procedures

✅ Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency service calls when needed

What We're Looking For

✔ 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience

✔ EPA Universal Certification

✔ OSHA 10 Certification

✔ Strong troubleshooting skills in HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems

✔ Experience with rooftop units, commercial refrigeration, and walk-in coolers/freezers

✔ Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently

✔ Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

✔ Strong communication and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

⭐ HVAC trade school or technical training

⭐ Experience servicing boilers and commercial air conditioning systems

⭐ Sheet metal experience

⭐ Manufacturer certifications or training (Amana, Lennox, etc.)

⭐ Experience working in hospitals, schools, retail facilities, industrial sites, or large commercial buildings

Schedule

Monday–Friday

⏰ Primarily 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Overtime available (typically 10–20 hours per week)

On-call rotation averaging 3–4 days per month

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albany, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
