Forklift Operator

Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. This position is responsible for operating industrial powered trucks, moving inventory throughout the facility, loading and unloading freight, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting daily warehouse operations.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically capable of working in a fast-paced warehouse environment and committed to workplace safety and attendance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate stand-up forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload trucks and incoming freight.
• Move, stock, and organize inventory in bulk storage areas and flow racks.
• Follow warehouse management (WM) system instructions using radio frequency (RF) technology.
• Verify inventory counts and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Inspect, unload, and break down inventory shipments.
• Follow all OSHA, company safety policies, and workplace procedures.
• Assist with inventory audits and cycle counts as needed.
• Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to meet operational goals.

Qualifications

• Ability to learn warehouse management terminology, RF scanning functions, and shipping procedures.
• Ability to learn OSHA standards and safe workplace practices.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions and inventory information accurately.
• Basic computer skills required for operating warehouse management systems.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance record.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 70 pounds .
• Ability to:
  • Stand and/or walk approximately 40% of the workday.
  • Lift and stock products approximately 30% of the workday.
  • Push, pull, reach, and stoop approximately 25% of the workday.
  • Climb approximately 5% of the workday.
• Sufficient visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to safely operate forklifts and identify products in storage locations.

Certification Requirements

• Must successfully complete company forklift certification within the first 90 days of employment .
• Must be able to demonstrate safe operation of industrial powered trucks and maintain certification requirements.
