Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, PACU – Anchorage, AK 99508 Start Date: September 28, 2026 Location: Anchorage, Alaska Schedule: 3x12-hour day shifts with variable start times (0700-1900, 0800-2000, 0900-2100, 1000-2200, 1100-2300). One on-call shift per week required, primarily overnight (2230-0700). Must choose either one Saturday night or one Sunday night call shift. Weekend coverage is on-call only. Guaranteed 60 hours per 2-week period. Patient ratio of 2:1. Highlights: 13-week travel assignment at a 407-bed Magnet-designated acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center Work in a 16-bed Post Anesthesia Care Unit with a daily census of approximately 40 patients Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more Free parking and Epic charting system Call sleep rooms available for nurses who prefer to stay on-site during call shifts Must be available to respond within 30 minutes when on call Requirements: Active Alaska RN license required at time of submission (Compact license accepted) Minimum 1 year of PACU nursing experience required Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required Pediatric experience strongly preferred Experience with Phase I PACU, arterial line management, dysrhythmia recognition, blood product administration, central line care, IV vasopressors, ventilated patients, conscious sedation, and various surgical specialties Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years Willingness to float to similar units as needed Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) Why Join Us?
