As a Special Education Teacher working on a contract basis, you will serve students with diverse learning needs, using evidence-based strategies to foster growth, independence, and self-confidence.
What You Bring:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience working with students with a variety of exceptionalities, including learning, behavioral, and developmental disabilities
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and monitoring
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with parents, general education staff, and related service providers
- Commitment to inclusive education and differentiated instruction
- Positive attitude and flexibility in a team-oriented setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans tailored to students’ unique needs and abilities
- Assess student progress and adapt instructional strategies for optimal learning outcomes
- Conduct and participate in IEP meetings, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers and support staff to create an inclusive classroom environment
- Provide specialized interventions, behavioral support, and classroom accommodations/modifications
- Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and program effectiveness
