The center cares for a wide variety of species, ensuring they receive proper treatment and rehabilitation. Summary The Wildlife Admissions Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of administrative duties and clerical tasks in a busy wildlife hospital setting. Role Description The Wildlife Admissions Specialist is an on-site role based in Arlington, Washington. Responsibilities include managing incoming wildlife admissions, communicating with the public about wildlife-related issues, providing exceptional customer service to callers and presenters, coordinating with rehabilitation staff, and supporting the Executive Director with fundraising, events, and other tasks as needed. We see over 3,330 patients and receive over 7,000 phone calls each year. Qualifications Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to interact effectively with the public and team members Background in Education or delivering presentations is preferred Essential Functions Triage wildlife cases over the phone to assess next steps, must have strong customer service skills both written and oral Greet the public bringing in patients for care and collect admissions details for the clinic Enter and maintain records of phone calls, wildlife admissions, and donor contributions Process payments and ensure monthly and one-time donations are properly recorded Respond to email inquiries regarding patient progress, wildlife-related questions, and donations Assist the clinic by ordering medications and coordinating appointments Maintain electronic and hard copy filing systems Operate office equipment, including computers, copier/scanner, and a multi-line phone system. Assists Executive Director as needed, creating and maintaining spreadsheets, event planning, newsletter creation, and inventory Required Experience Minimum 2 years’ experience in administrative support and/or customer service Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Canva Experience with nonprofit donor, event, and volunteer tracking software (preferred) Knowledge and Skills Flexible and a self-starter; proactive in recognizing needed tasks Excellent people skills; enjoys working in a collaborative environment; a team player Strong multi-tasking ability and able to prioritize and balance multiple tasks Excellent organizational skills Highly detail oriented Able to handle sensitive/confidential information Able to work in a humane, responsible, and professional manner Knowledge of WA wildlife species and interest in animal welfare Positivity and a good sense of humor Benefits include Health Care (medical and dental), sick leave in accordance with WA state law, PTO - 2 weeks per year, and 6 paid holidays. $20/hour This position is for 30 hours per week, which qualifies for our benefits listed above.
