MON TUE WED THU FRI 8:00am - 5:00pm OVERVIEW: Working as a Full-time, Supply Chain Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and managing the overall strategy for Fastener and other commodity categories, identifying gaps within those product categories, while managing the relationship with the suppliers for those specific categories. This position is integral to improving product cost and pricing positions within the respective markets maintaining our public product catalog offering. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a passion for driving efficiencies into our supply chain. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals. RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: o Analyzing data and communicating results clearly o Designing implementation and support of corporate initiatives and strategies o Supporting business needs o Aligning with business objectives within supply chain o Establishing a product rationalization strategy to support growth drivers and key initiatives, ensuring our product portfolio is optimized for profitability and growth o Managing supplier relationships and category strategies o Collaborating with various departments o Designing implementation and support of corporate initiatives REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The following skills and qualifications are required for this position: o 18 years of age or older o Possess or are working towards a degree related to Business, Marketing or Operations OR have industry related work experience o Excellent written and oral communication skills o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite o Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment o Work independently as well as in a team environment o Willingness to travel, as needed o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY) PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: o Prior work experience with product association, placement, and supplier negotiations o Knowledge and familiarity with industrial products ABOUT US: Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers. FULL-TIME BENEFITS: Fastenal offers a competitive benefits package to all full-time employees. This package includes Health, Life, Long Term Disability, and Dental Insurance, in addition to, paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, and 401(k) with an employer contribution. COMPENSATION: The pay range for this position is $42,000 - 70,000. In addition to base pay, this position is also eligible for a bonus and/or commission.
