Assistant Director of Programming

Location and Job Title: Assistant Director of Programming B'nai B'rith Camp 6443 SW Beaverton‑Hillsdale Hwy Suite #234 Portland, OR 97221 Position Summary: The Assistant Director of Programming is responsible for building a vibrant and inclusive Jewish community through program innovation, development, and implementation. Duties include camper recruitment, hiring and supervising BB Camp seasonal programming staff, scheduling and stewarding the day-to-day overnight camp program, budget development and management, and planning for improvements and growth. The Assistant Director of Programming is also responsible for planning and executing year‑round engagement programming and events, including Family Camps, retreats, and other youth, teen, and family events. Key Responsibilities: Program Development & Execution: Design, schedule, and oversee all age-appropriate, Jewish values-based activities, theme days, and special events; ensure quality and consistency; adapt for special needs; ensure a diverse range of high-quality experiences aligned with BB360's mission. Staff Supervision & Training: Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate activity leaders and program specialists; provide guidance and support Operations & Logistics: Manage daily schedules, equipment, supplies, and field trips; ensure smooth execution of all camp programming. Leadership & Administration: Collaborate with Camp leadership; manage budgets; handle records; and plan for future year‑round engagement programs and summer seasons Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree preferred. Post‑graduate work in a related field preferred. 3+ years of experience in Jewish camp leadership or related youth programming. Proven success in staff supervision, program development, and operations management. Strong understanding of Jewish traditions and values; comfort creating inclusive Jewish programming. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Experience managing budgets and financial planning. Passion for informal education, youth development, and community‑building. Ability to work in a team environment and to collaborate effectively with several different stakeholders. Excellent organizational, project management, and problem‑solving skills. Must have the ability to manage simultaneous tasks, work under time constraints, and work long hours. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with Google applications; experience with CampMinder preferred. Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 #J-18808-Ljbffr JCC Association of North America
