VCU Medical Center Crisis Response

Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse specializing in Outpatient Clinic Hematology Oncology. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in an outpatient setting, focusing on individuals receiving treatment for hematological and oncological conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Assess and monitor patient health status, including vital signs and symptoms.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
Support patients through the emotional and psychological aspects of their treatment journey.

Work Schedule

This position requires a commitment to 10-hour shifts, from 07:30 AM to 06:00 PM, with rotating days off between Monday and Wednesday.

Qualifications

Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
Experience in hematology-oncology nursing preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with electronic health record systems, specifically EPIC.

Additional Information

Locals are welcome to apply for this position, and offers will be made at the same rate. This opportunity does not include block schedules.
