Compensation: $90,000–$105,000 annually, with flexibility based on experience

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to oversee environmental compliance within an established automotive manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable environmental regulations, monitoring wastewater output, and maintaining existing environmental management programs and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental management within a manufacturing environment, with experience in chrome plating and wastewater treatment operations preferred. This position focuses specifically on environmental responsibilities, with an emphasis on maintaining established systems and ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance.

Position Responsibilities:

• Responsible for environmental management training, job site inspections, and reporting.
• Ensure facility operations remain compliant with applicable local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
• Monitor wastewater output and oversee wastewater treatment operations to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Conduct daily environmental checks and inspections to verify compliance with applicable regulations and established procedures.
• Monitor three separate wastewater treatment operations and address potential compliance issues.
• Perform environmental compliance inspections involving waste management, chemical labeling, spill prevention, stormwater management, and other applicable environmental requirements.
• Monitor adherence to established environmental management programs by employees and subcontractors.
• Maintain environmental records, documentation, and required reports for local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate environmental inspections, investigations, and compliance activities with relevant departments and personnel.
• Work closely with wastewater technicians and environmental personnel to maintain compliance and support daily operations.
• Provide guidance to management and employees regarding environmental programs, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain environmental management programs and procedures in accordance with applicable regulations and industry standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve environmental processes, tracking, and reporting procedures.
• Stay current on environmental regulations, industry trends, and best practices.
• Perform additional environmental compliance, monitoring, and reporting duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Five years of environmental management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in environmental regulatory compliance, reporting, and environmental management systems.
• Chrome plating experience required.
• Wastewater treatment experience, including the ability to monitor three separate wastewater treatment operations.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of environmental regulations, compliance requirements, and reporting procedures.
• Current wastewater and stormwater certifications, as applicable to the role.
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management, Health and Safety, or a related field preferred but not required; relevant experience will be prioritized.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and environmental recordkeeping or database systems.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and manage multiple projects.
• Ability to work effectively with management, environmental personnel, and other facility employees.
• Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug test.
