Description:
Treat patients using various treatment modalities.
Utilize all treatment set-ups and treatment machines, understanding current protocols.
Observe and question patients about their response to treatment.
Screen, counsel, or direct physical and emotional problems to radiation oncologists and/or nurses.
Direct patients to nurses for weekly evaluation.
Prepare daily schedule for assigned treatment machines.
Check for accuracy of new patient data.
Verify that all accessories are prepared and accounted for.
Present field verification films to the physician to verify set-up.
Adjust fields as directed by the radiation oncologist.
Document and follow through on changes and re-films.
Maintain patient treatment records.
Prepare dose calculations, being aware of dose limits.
Submit billing for daily patient treatments and review for accuracy daily.
