Duties

Help

• Develops, implements, and monitors programs to analyze and evaluate the performance of civilian payroll systems and the civilian payroll offices.
• Recommends needed changes to legislation, policies, and directives that impact civilian pay systems.
• Prepares technical material to substantiate required system changes to the Defense Civilian Payroll System.
• Coordinates with DFAS staff offices for support and services needed by the functional area.
• Represents the Director on committees, panels, and at conferences and meetings.

Qualifications

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: r esearching financial policies, laws, regulations, and other governing documents to effectively develop, coordinate, and deliver expert analysis and guidance on complex financial operations to respond to internal and external inquiries, aid decision-making, assess and improve operations, and meet mission objectives; or leading review of complex project proposals for financial operations, conducting comparative analysis and developing supportive narrative, and developing and overseeing project management plans.

You may qualify for consideration if meeting specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
