Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Med Surg \n Discipline: RN \n Start Date: 09/28/2026 \n Duration: 12 weeks \n 36 hours per week \n Shift: 12 hours, nights \n Employment Type: Travel \n \n Title: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse \n Location: Concord North Carolina 28025 Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift - 36 Shift Information: 1900-0700 Clinical Interviewing- Yes On Call, Call Back Requirements: No call Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend Holiday Requirements: Travelers will work 75% of holidays Floating Requirements: Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH (peds only) could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises Start Date- Oct -26 About Facility: \n \n Licensed for 457 beds \n Level 3 Trauma \n Stroke center of Excellence \n Bariatric center of Excellence \n Chest Pain Center \n Radius rule: Traveler s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit \n Department Information: \n \n Census: Average patients/day: 51 \n Minimum Years of Experience required: 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience\n \n Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes \n Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: \n \n Chronic diseases, CHF specialty area, Mental Health, Addiction Services for patients requiring 6 weeks of IV abx, COPD, DM, Wounds, Geriatric care \n Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:\n \n BLS, ACLS, NIHSS \n Patient Ratios:\n \n o RN: 1:4-6, acuity dependent – surge times could increase to 1:7-8 \n o CNA: 1:7 \n Skills required: \n \n General Med/Tele skillset: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with non-titrating Cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone), care of patients with tubes/drains, IV start skills, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, etc. \n Support within the Department: \n \n Nurse Manager, Administrative Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Supervisor, staff RNs, CNA, Clinical Mentor, Rapid Response RN, House Supervisor \n Technology/Equipment: \n \n EMR: EPIC \n Department specific Equipment: scales, GBS machine, transfer device, vein finder, EKG, crash cart, language interpreter, tele-medicine cart for online assessments of patients, doppler \n Floating: \n \n Travel nurses will be first to float to other nursing units and provide flexible staffing support based on patient care needs and staffing demands. They will demonstrate adaptability and clinical flexibility when floating to other units. Will take patients within scope of practice on any unit (e.g. MedSurg assignment in ICU, MedSurg holds in ED, etc.) \n Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable \n \n Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH (peds only) could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises \n If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock) \n \n Orientation (facility and unit): \n \n NEO \n 2 days departmental \n Scheduling :\n \n Weekend rotation: every other \n No call required \n Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays \n RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours \n Shift times: 0700-1900 and 1900-0700 \n Schedule cycle: 6-week schedules \n Other notes: \n \n Scrub Color: Navy Blue \n Parking: Free \n Department Culture: Teamwork, accountability \n \n \n PCUnurse1\n \n TalentBurst, Inc Job ID 26-29614.
