A Taste of What You'll Do Join GALLO as a Maintenance Mechanic and help keep winery and production operations running safely, reliably, and efficiently. In this hands-on role, you will provide mechanical maintenance and repair support across cellar processing, bottling, filtration, and facility equipment. You will troubleshoot machinery, document repairs, replace defective components, reassemble and test equipment, and respond to scheduled and emergency maintenance needs. You will use technical prints, manuals, electrical test equipment, hand and power tools to diagnose issues and complete quality repairs. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, calibration of instruments, servicing pumps and drive systems, basic alarm troubleshooting for Tetra and other winery systems, and maintaining shop machines, tools, and facilities. You may also perform basic electrical installation, wiring and conduit work, plumbing and piping, machining, drill press operation, and welding in accordance with applicable regulations and safe work practices. Success in this role comes from curiosity, sound judgment, attention to detail, and a continuous-improvement mindset. You will work closely with colleagues across functions, contribute to assigned projects, and support general facility maintenance and routine inspections as business needs arise. Travel between winery sites to pick up parts, supplies, or equipment may be required. Safety, quality, and environmental stewardship are central to every task. You will help maintain clean, organized work areas; identify and address unsafe or unsanitary conditions; follow shop safety and housekeeping practices; and provide constructive feedback that helps strengthen a culture of care. What You'll Need High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 3 years of mechanical or automotive maintenance experience working on equipment or industrial motors and pumps reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Associates degree or 2-year Technical Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Maintenance and Repair plus 1 year of mechanical or automotive maintenance experience working on equipment or industrial motors and pumps reflecting increasing levels of responsibility. Experience working in a manufacturing, production, industrial mechanical or automotive environment. Required to work assigned shift pattern, 12-hour shifts with rotating day off every week. Required to swap between day pattern and night pattern as crews rotate. Required to conduct work at heights. Required to lift and carry equipment that weighs up-to 50 pounds. Required to work in a tight and confined space. Skilled in calculating figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. How You'll Stand Out High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years of mechanical or automotive maintenance experience working on equipment or industrial motors and pumps reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Associates degree or 2-year Technical Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Maintenance and Repair plus 3 years of mechanical or automotive maintenance experience working on equipment or industrial motors and pumps reflecting increasing levels of responsibility. Industrial trade experience to include Refrigeration and HVAC. Skilled in forklift and aerial lift operation. Experience working in a food and beverage manufacturing facility. Operates well in a team setting. Knowledge of drinking water and wastewater systems. Experience maintaining and repairing large production equipment. Skilled in the use of MS Word, MS Outlook and MS Excel at a basic level. Experience writing reports and procedures manuals. Skilled in reading electrical schematics; possess PLC skills. We offer a broad salary range to allow for long-term growth. Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by multiple factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. In addition to the salary, this position may be eligible for bonuses, incentive plans, or participate in tasting room tip pools, as applicable.
