Registered Nurse In Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of critical care experience License: Current nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: CVICU experience or open heart experience Experience in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Familiarity with ECMO and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) Experience in post cardiac surgery care Ability to monitor Pulmonary Artery Lines/Swan Ganz Experience with Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) Knowledge of Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD/RVAD) Ability in arterial line management and blood product administration Knowledge of central line care and management Experience with continuous IV sedation Ability to titrate cardiac drips Care experience for ventilated patients Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) Knowledge of isolation precautions and personal protective equipment Description: RTO after booking is not allowed. Any call-offs or additional requests for time off could possibly lead to a cancellation. This position requires a minimum of 2 years of critical care experience. First-time travelers will not be considered. Locals are accepted at the same rate for this need. The target patient ratio is 1:1 at night and 2:1 on weekends. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. This unit specializes in post open heart recovery. The patient population includes those recovering from thoracotomies, esophagogastrectomies, and TAVR procedures. Advanced procedures such as CRRT, Impella, and IABP are also performed in this unit. The position requires floating within the facility as needed. All candidates must be open to floating within or near the facility. Candidates will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services. Pre-start modules must be completed online prior to starting, using designated browsers. Candidates should confirm their ability to attend hospital orientation classes. Scrubs should be navy, white, or a combination of the two.
