Travel OR Nurse (RN) - Murphysboro, Illinois

A Registered Nurse (RN) with Operating Room experience is needed for a travel assignment based in Murphysboro, IL. This role operates primarily in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) during the day shift, with on-call duties as required. Flexibility to float to clinically appropriate units within the scope of practice, licensure, and competencies is essential.


Qualifications and Required Certifications:

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Floating requirement: ability to work in various hospital departments as needed

Additional Certifications Required Depending on Unit:

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Critical Stroke Unit Advanced Life Support (CSU-ALS) [preferred for some ICU roles]

Typical Units and Corresponding Certification Needs:

• Emergency Departments: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
• ICU and Step-Down Units: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (CSU-ALS preferred for ICU)
• Medical, PCU, Acute Rehab: BLS and NIHSS

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care in CVOR
• Respond to on-call demands with professionalism
• Float to appropriate units (ED, ICU, PCU, Med/Surg) as patient care needs dictate
• Adhere strictly to all hospital policies, nursing standards, and safety regulations
