Sushi / Korean Chef

Our client, a busy spa location in Carrollton is hiring a skilled Sushi / Korean Chef to lead day-to-day kitchen execution for their in-house Kitchen. This role is ideal for someone who can handle prep and service with confidence, maintain high quality and consistency, and work clean and fast in a customer-facing spa environment. Responsibilities include:

• Prepare and execute sushi and Korean menu items during service (quality, speed, consistency)
• Oversee daily prep: proteins, vegetables, rice, sauces, garnishes, and portioning
• Ensure excellent knife work, safe food handling, and proper storage (FIFO)
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation across stations, tools, and equipment
• Help manage inventory levels, communicate prep needs, and minimize waste
• Support training and guidance of prep staff as needed
• Follow all kitchen procedures and food safety standards

Requirements include:

• Prior experience as a chef/lead cook in a high-volume kitchen (sushi and/or Korean experience preferred)
• Strong knife skills and confidence with daily slicing/portioning
• Strong food safety and sanitation habits
• Reliable attendance and ability to work a consistent 10 AM7 PM schedule
• Calm, professional, team-first attitude

Preferred:

• Experience working in an Asian restaurant (Japanese/Korean/other)
• Ability to speak Korean (conversational or fluent)
