Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantThis role is responsible for supporting and assisting in general ledger and accounts receivable functions. The Staff Accountant will ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in financial operations while contributing to the overall success of the accounting department.ResponsibilitiesGeneral LedgerDaily and weekly review and posting of bank activity to the general ledgerPrepare journal entries, accruals, and adjustments as necessary to ensure accurate financial reportingReview and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies or irregularitiesAssist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for management and external stakeholdersReview VISA spend data and transfer information to the general ledgerAssist with the fixed asset transition to SalesforceCollaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information as neededAccounts ReceivableProcess accounts receivable activities, including billing and collectionsRecord customer receipts dailySet up and onboard new clients in the accounting platformMonitor customer accounts for timely payments and follow up on overdue invoicesInvestigate and resolve discrepancies or disputes with customers regarding billing or payment issuesMaintain accurate records of accounts receivable transactions and reconcile accounts as neededRequirementsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferredCPA certification or progress toward CPA certification preferredMinimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience, with a focus on general ledger and knowledge of accounts receivable processesExperience with accounting software; Salesforce experience preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skillsStrong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environmentWorking knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirementsExperience with audit processes and internal controls is a plusEqual Opportunity Employer / Vets / Disability
