- Lead, mentor, and develop associate veterinarians across assigned hospitals to foster engagement, growth, and retention
- Serve as a working manager with scheduled clinical time, modeling high-quality medicine and client communication
- Partner with practice management to drive medical standards, team collaboration, and hospital performance goals
- Validate clinical quality through medical record reviews, case discussions, patient-safety event reviews, and coaching
- Guide newly hired veterinarians through onboarding, skills development in surgery and dentistry, and experiential learning
- Recruit and engage veterinary talent; support student externs and candidates during in-hospital experiences
- Ensure compliance with controlled substance management, radiation safety, and all applicable regulations
- Address client concerns related to medical care and promote access to timely, consistent services
- Oversee medical equipment needs and collaborate on inventory planning Requirements
- DVM/VMD degree (or international equivalent) from an accredited program
- Current Oregon veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
- DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Several years of small-animal clinical experience, including competence in routine surgery and dentistry
- Proven leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
- Comfort reviewing medical records, implementing quality initiatives, and partnering on hospital KPIs
