WHO WE ARE

At Tulsa Honor Academy (THA), we are on a mission to equip all scholars with the academic skills, content knowledge, and ethical character required for college graduation and life success.

We believe ALL scholars, regardless of race, background, income or ability, can achieve at high levels. We work relentlessly to ensure 100% of scholars are on a path to go to and graduate from a college of their choice, beginning in the fifth grade. 

Opening our doors in 2015 with 92 fifth grade scholars, THA will grow to serve over 1,400 scholars in grades 5-12 across our three schools in the 2026-2027 academic year.

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

Tulsa Honor Academy’s School Leader Fellow is a member of our Network Leadership Team.  The School Leader Fellow is a rising leader who will actively train in the skills necessary to effectively lead a Tulsa Honor Academy School as a principal,  in alignment with the THA Vision. Through direct practice and application, the School Leader Fellow will master leadership of instruction, school culture, and operations while adding capacity to our school leadership teams and the THA Network Office. The School Leader Fellow will work with the Chief Academic Officer and  each Site Principal throughout their Fellowship to plan how they will master the competencies needed to lead a high-performing THA school. A successful School Leader Fellow will be “in the driver’s seat” of their learning and should take advantage of all opportunities to build their leadership. 

The School Leader Fellow participates in and facilitates a wide range of professional development sessions. The School Leader Fellow will also manage a variety of projects that will bring to life the THA Vision. School Leader Fellow special projects include, but are not limited to, Title IX coordination, Principal for Summer Tutorials (THA Summer School), Summer Professional Development logistics, and other projects as needed. 

The School Leader Fellow must be prepared to take the role of principal, either temporarily, or assuming  the role as a full-time Interim Principal should that need arise for the THA network.  The School Leader fellow will serve at various campuses throughout the year. In some instances the school leader fellow will be filling the role of a vacant role and learning through doing. In other instances, the school leader fellow may be doing shadow-work at an individual school or in rotation with all campuses.

Core Responsibilities

• Training: Master skills of school leadership through direct practice, coaching, shadowing, and professional development. 
• Capacity building: Fill gaps to support teams as needed. 
• Project Management: Sees projects through to successful completion. Mobilizes, motivates, and equips necessary stakeholders to drive results. 
• Academic Achievement: Identify and successfully address gaps in academic performance across the network. 
• School Culture: Identify and successfully address gaps in school culture across the network in alignment with the THA vision. 
• School Operations: Identify and successfully address gaps in school operations across the network 
• Adult Learning: Add to schools’ capacity to grow in teacher and leader effectiveness. 

THE DETAILS

Qualifications/Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Master’s Degree preferred 
• Active state certification preferred
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred

Experience

• 2  years of experience as a Teacher with a proven track record of academic growth and achievement required 
• 1 year of school or district leadership required (Principal, Assistant Principal, Deans, Instructional Coach,  Director, etc.)  
• Charter school experience is strongly preferred 

Role

• School Leader Fellow will work on THA’s Network Team and report to the Chief Academic Officer. 
• Full time, year round, exempt. 
• If assigned to a specific school site, School Leader Fellow will follow that school’s hours and daily schedule. When not assigned to a specific school, the school-leader fellow will follow the network hours and schedule. 

Compensation and Benefits
