Job Description:

• Measures neurological responses to external stimuli and trace electrical pathways. Scans, correlates, and clips studies accurately.
\n
• Observes EEG tracings and respond appropriately to seizure activity.
\n
• Explains testing procedures to patients and families using age-appropriate guidelines.
\n
• Performs studies with appropriate documentation, observes patients, troubleshoots equipment and physiological artifacts, and utilizes appropriate resources.
\n
• Evaluates recorded diagnostic data and reports abnormal findings to nurses and physicians.
\n

\n

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

\n • Ability to analyze and assess data, techniques, methodology, equipment operation, and quality control to ensure that information is obtained and presented accurately

\n • Ability to use technologies to measure brain activities and circulation

\n • Ability to train and mentor staff and students through specialized imaging

\n • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals

\n • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry

\n • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English

\n • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office

\n • Ability to perform quality END procedures to include but not limited to EEG, Ambulatory EEG, LTM, and NCS following ACNS and AANEM guidelines

\n • Organizational skills

\n • Verbal interpersonal skills

\n • Customer relations skills

\n • Proficiency in grammar/spelling

\n • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions

\n • Ability to follow verbal instructions

\n • Keyboarding (manual) skills

Education:

\n • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Field of Study:

Work Experience:

\n • 2+ experience in performance of procedures in a patient care environment [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:

\n • Registered Electroencephalography Technician (REEGT) [Preferred]

\n • American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic & Evoked Potential Technologis (ABRET) [Preferred] 

\n • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
