In this role, you will own the delivery of features that expand our pay-in and pay-out networks globally, leading work against a backlog designed to expand our Global Network that powers all of Remitly's product offerings in creative ways. You'll work in an AI-forward engineering culture: we expect engineers to use AI tools across coding, testing, debugging, and documentation to move faster while managing the correctness of everything they ship.You Will:Own the design and delivery of new partner integrations for our pay-in and pay-out networks, with the possibility of working with partners that support money movements for over 170 countries and growingUse AI-assisted development to accelerate delivery, factoring it into your estimates and verifying AI-generated output meets the team's bar for correctness, security, and maintainabilityDeliver well-tested, observable, documented, efficient, scalable, and resilient solutions.Own the operational health of your services, including on-call, SLOs, and incident responseInterview candidates and mentor new hires through code review and ramp-up.Drive task breakdown, estimates, and tradeoff discussions in partnership with PMPartner with Operations team members across the globe to provide technical recommendations to customer-facing problemsWork with partners around the globe and be a representative of the company and our engineering team to our global partnersBe the go-to expert with tools, programming languages, and engineering processes used within the team in a scalable cloud-based architectureWrite technical specifications and lead design reviewsPromote best practices and push for technical excellence across the companyPartner with your manager to shape the technical direction and roadmapYou Have:A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience6+ years of building, shipping, and maintaining consumer software products2+ years working with services deployed on a commercial cloud provider like AWS1+ year leading features with multiple engineersExperience using AI tools to accelerate code construction, testing, and documentation in a production environmentGeneral experience migrating legacy services into modernized architectureExpertise in Java, GoLang, or other general purposes languagesExpertise in working with large-scale database systems like MySQL, DynamoDBExpertise in working with monitoring systems such as Prometheus and VictoriaMetricsExperience in technical architecture and system design decisionsClear and objective writing and in-person communicationA desire for learning new technologies and systemsPayments/Fintech experience - added bonus!Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $180,000-$225,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
