This full-time, first-shift role (5:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.) focuses on supporting the shipping department to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely movement of materials and finished goods. You will coordinate shipping activities, handle materials, and assist with basic assembly tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Use a forklift (hilo) to down-stack pallets and reorganize parts from one area to another in a safe and efficient manner.
• Package parts and equipment securely for shipment, following established procedures and quality standards.
• Load and unload trucks, ensuring materials are handled carefully and accurately documented.
• Build skids and prepare equipment for shipment, including basic assembly and preparation work.
• Assist in the assembly department with general tasks such as cutting chain, installing rollers, and other simple assembly activities as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area within the shipping and receiving and assembly departments.
• Follow all safety guidelines and operating procedures when using material handling equipment and performing shipping tasks.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily shipping schedules and production goals.

• At least 2 years of experience operating a forklift (hilo) in a warehouse, shipping, or manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing setting.
• Hands-on experience in shipping and receiving, including handling incoming and outgoing materials.
• Proficient material handling skills, including moving, stacking, and organizing parts and equipment.
• Ability to perform basic manual tasks such as cutting chain and installing rollers.
• Capability to safely load and unload trucks using appropriate equipment and techniques.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate packaging and shipment preparation.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to established processes and safety rules.

• Comfort working in a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with team members.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for simple assembly-related tasks.
• Reliability and punctuality, particularly for early morning first-shift hours.
• Physical ability to stand, lift, move, and handle materials throughout the shift.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing and warehouse setting on a first-shift schedule from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will work around industrial equipment and materials, frequently using a forklift (hilo) and other material handling tools. The environment involves standing for extended periods, moving and lifting parts and equipment, and working in and around loading docks and assembly areas. Work is hands-on and active, with a focus on safety, organization, and efficient movement of goods.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Coopersville, MI.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
