The Department of Chemical Engineering at Rose-Hulman invitesapplications for a full-time tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor-levelwith an anticipated start date of August 2027. Candidates with advanced experience may beconsidered for appointment at a higher academic rank.

Rose-Hulmans teaching-focused mission is toprovide students with the worlds best undergraduate science engineering andmathematics education in an environment of individual attention and support. We are seekinginspiring educators who support this mission to join our collegialteam of 10 faculty. The department offers B.S. and masters degreesin chemical engineering and the undergraduate program is accredited by theEngineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. Rose-Hulman has been consistently ranked as the top engineering school inthe country for institutions without Ph.D. programs.

Essential job responsibilities includeteaching chemical engineering courses and laboratories advising studentscontinued professional development and service to the department instituteand professional communities. All applicants should demonstrate a strongcommitment to providing the highest quality undergraduate education andmentoring undergraduate engineering students. Research scholarship andprofessional development defined broadly as continued intellectual growththroughout a candidates career remain part of this role; these activities areintended to support the teaching mission of Rose-Hulman rather than competewith it.

Requirements include a doctorate ornear completion in chemical engineering or closely related field by the time ofappointment. We welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds in any area of chemicalengineering; those with experience or interestin teaching thermodynamics or laboratory courses are especially encouraged toapply. Candidates who can further broaden and enhance the educationalexperience of our students especially those with prior professional or industrialexperience related to petrochemical engineering biochemical engineering food engineeringprocess control and/or process safety are also encouraged to apply.
