Founding Data Engineer

A fast-growing fintech data company is hiring a Founding Data Analytics Engineer to help build the data foundation behind a market-leading analytics platform used by leading investment firms. This is a highly technical, hands-on role where you'll transform complex financial datasets into clean, structured, product-ready data that powers customer-facing analytics. You'll work closely with software engineers to improve data quality, automate workflows, and shape how data is modeled and delivered. What You'll Do Transform complex spreadsheets and financial data into structured, high-quality datasets Build SQL and Python workflows to validate, clean, and automate data processing Partner closely with engineering to improve data models and product functionality Develop automated quality checks and analytical tooling to ensure data accuracy Help scale the company's core data platform through process improvements and AI-powered automation What They’re Looking For 8+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a similar technical role Strong SQL and Python skills Advanced Excel experience Experience building data pipelines, validation frameworks, and automation Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment with significant ownership Strong attention to detail and passion for data quality Nice to Have Experience with financial data, equity structures, or fintech Familiarity with LLMs or AI-assisted development tools Experience working closely with software engineering teams Why Join?
