This role involves supporting surgical procedures, ensuring the availability of supplies, and maintaining a sterile environment. The position offers an opportunity to work with a dedicated team across a variety of surgical specialties, primarily focusing on cardiothoracic cases.

Job Details:

• Location: Wausau, WI
• Shift: Days, 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with potential need for early or late hours depending on case volume and acuity
• Start Date: 08/17/2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours per Week: 40 hours
• Float Requirements: May be required to float to all central locations if needed
• On Call/Call-Back: 1 night of call per week, 1 weekend per month, 1 backup per week; response time within 30 minutes with potential for call-back pay
• Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every third weekend and holiday rotation included
• Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) license required; NBSTSA or NCCT accepted; American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) certifications mandated by the healthcare provider
• Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; preferred Associate Degree or Certification
• Minimum Experience: 2+ years of cardiovascular operating room experience required; prior travel experience necessary
• Unit Specific Skills: Efficient setup of operative suites, case cart management, scrubbing in various surgical specialties, turnaround of operating rooms, cardio-thoracic and thoracic robot experience preferred
• Additional Notes: Candidate should be motivated, resilient, adaptable to change, social, and flexible with downtime tasks such as cleaning or case cart pulling. Scrubbing skills may involve working with multiple cardiothoracic surgeons and approximately 50-60 cases monthly.
• Shift Notes: Schedule from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
