1st Class Shipfitter

Location: Morgan City, LA
Schedule: Day Shift | Full-Time

Summary

Seeking an experienced 1st Class Shipfitter with 3+ years of shipfitting experience to perform layout, structural fitting, torch cutting, and metric measuring for marine vessel construction and repair.

Must-Haves
  • 3+ years of shipfitting experience in a shipyard or industrial setting
  • Experience with layout, structural fitting, and assembly
  • Proficient in torch cutting and metric measurements
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Ability to pass a hands-on craft test
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality
Preferred
  • New vessel construction or marine repair experience
  • Rigging, crane, or forklift experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
5 Qualifying Questions
  1. Do you have at least 3 years of shipfitting experience?
  2. Can you pass a hands-on Shipfitter craft test?
  3. Can you read and work from shipbuilding blueprints or drawings?
  4. Are you proficient in structural fitting, torch cutting, and metric measurements?
  5. Are you available to work full-time on the day shift in Morgan City, LA?
