PRN Speech Language Pathologist Adult Elyria

Responsibilities Organizes and conducts Speech‑Language Pathology services to facilitate the (re)habilitation of people with physical and/or psychosocial disabilities. Directs the patient's participation in selected activities/treatments to promote and/or maintain good health and communication. Organizes and conducts the Speech‑Language Pathology plan of care to facilitate the habilitation or rehabilitation of people with speech, language, cognitive‑linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing disabilities. Directs patient participation in selected activities to establish, enhance, and restore speech, language, cognitive‑linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing abilities. Performs evaluations, develops an effective treatment plan appropriate to a patient’s rehabilitation needs within the care continuum, initiates and participates in the discharge planning process. Educates patient/family/caregiver in applicable health information, treatment and prevention. Performs other department activities such as documentation, billing, support of department operations, etc. Qualifications Meets minimum requirements as required by current hospital and department PRN policies. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients. Completes annual training in UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. Works in an inpatient setting and demonstrates flexibility to provide coverage for PTO, LOA, and staffing shortages. Job Details This position is PRN.
