Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant Birmingham, Alabama $80,000 - $90,000+ Bonus Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant toassistthe finance leadership team with day-to-day accounting operations and internal financial reporting. This is a full-time, in-office role focused onmaintainingaccuraterecords and supporting monthly and annual close activities within a logistics-focused business unit. In this role, you will work closely with the Assistant Controller to manage general ledger activity, analyze financial results, and ensure account accuracy. The position requires hands-on involvement across multiple accounting functions and consistent collaboration with internal teams. What You’ll Do: Compile and support monthly internal financial reports withappropriate backupand account detail Prepare and post journal entries and ensure proper classification within the general ledger Reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank activity and investigate variances Review income statement results andperformmonthly account-level analysis Provide accounting support for payables and receivables as workload requires Process weekly payments for agents and respond to questions or discrepancies Prepare requested schedules and documentation for external audit reviews Assistwith monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures Maintain organized electronic accounting records and support documentation Generate routine and special financial reports for internal management use Identifyandassistwith improvements to accounting workflows and controls What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required Three to five years of hands-on accounting experience required Working knowledge of GAAP and accrual accounting concepts Advanced Excel skills with experience handling large data sets Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail Clear written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage competing deadlines in a structured office environment Self-directed work style with the ability to collaborate across teams #J-18808-Ljbffr PangeaTwo
