UX Designer Department Technology — Ecommerce Solutions Reports To Ecommerce Solutions Lead Direct Reports None (Individual Contributor) Status Filled Classification Full-time, Exempt, Individual Contributor The Seat Own the design quality of Acadaca’s ecommerce client work—creating design systems, client-facing interfaces, and reusable patterns that accelerate delivery and elevate outcomes. Accountabilities Client Design Delivery: Execute within the focus calendar model. Own UX/UI design for assigned project slots and retainer clients—wireframes through production assets. Design Systems: Build and maintain reusable design systems and component libraries for productized offerings (Core Shopify Theme, Sanity Accelerator). AI-Augmented Design: Integrate AI tools into the design workflow for rapid prototyping, asset generation, and design iteration. Developer Handoff: Produce clear, complete design specs that engineers can implement without ambiguity. Participate in implementation review. Client Communication: Present design concepts and rationale to clients. Translate business goals into design decisions. Brand & Accessibility Standards: Ensure all client deliverables meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and align with client brand guidelines. AI Expectations Use AI tools for rapid prototyping, layout generation, and design exploration. Leverage AI for asset creation (imagery, icons, illustrations) where appropriate. Collaborate with engineers on AI-generated frontend code review for design fidelity. Continuously evaluate new AI design tools and recommend adoption where they improve quality or speed. Key Performance Indicators Metric Target Design turnaround Wireframe-to-approval cycle under 5 business days Reusable components Growing library of design system components Client satisfaction Zero design-related escalations Accessibility compliance 100% of deliverables pass WCAG 2.1 AA Core Competencies 3+ years in UX/UI design, preferably in ecommerce or agency environments. Proficiency with design tools (Figma, Sketch, or equivalent) and design system management. Strong understanding of Shopify themes, ecommerce UX patterns, and conversion optimization. Experience with responsive design, mobile-first principles, and accessibility standards. Familiarity with frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, React) sufficient for effective developer collaboration. AI design tool experience or strong aptitude for rapid adoption. GWC Fit A designer who thinks in systems, not just screens. Gets energized by creating patterns that scale across clients and projects. Wants to push the boundary of what’s possible with AI-augmented design while maintaining craft quality.
