Plant Operations Supervisor

Plant Operations Supervisor This position will supervise the activities of the Plant Operations Department and approved contractors using appropriate management tools and compliance with organization policies and procedures. It will assist the Plant Operations Director and department staff with any project that may be required, perform and complete assigned scheduled maintenance work orders (PMs), routine and emergency work orders in an allotted and timely manner, and under general direction perform a variety of skilled work in the operation, maintenance and repair of boiler, heating, air conditioning, ventilating, lighting, power, water, water treatment, and other mechanical systems normally found in a hospital; instruct or lead other technicians; instruct or lead contract workers; and do other related work. Provides security related duties M-F during daylight hours, maintains cooperative work relationships, assists in the "On Call" rotation and responds to emergency repairs, complies with hospital training and safety requirements, and ensures that the requirements of EPA Section 608 are met. Qualifications Education/License/Certification: An Operating Engineer’s license is preferred High School Graduate or GED equivalent, 18+ years old & a valid Louisiana driver’s license An EPA Section 608 Refrigeration Universal Certificate or Electrical Certification preferred Training, Experience & Job Knowledge: Minimum 5 years’ experience in a healthcare maintenance or plant operations setting, performing duties which included the operation, maintenance and repair of boiler, heating, refrigeration, ventilation and power equipment including the operation and maintenance of air conditioning systems involving the use of automatic controls. Residential and light commercial construction or maintenance experience does not apply. Minimum 5 years HVAC experience at Journeyman level. Knowledge of: boilers and auxiliary boiler room equipment; heating, lighting, ventilating, air conditioning, power, refrigeration, building electric and pneumatic controls, water and sewer systems, water treatment and other mechanical or electrical equipment; the methods, tools, materials, and equipment used in the operation, maintenance and repair of such equipment. A working knowledge of the Joint Commission requirements, National Fire Protection Association requirements, and EPA Section 608 Refrigeration Regulations. A working knowledge of the Building and Mechanical codes as adopted by the City of New Iberia and Iberia Parish. Provide supervision, assist and ensure that Plant Operations staff and approved contractors perform and complete assigned scheduled maintenance work orders (PMs), routine and emergency work orders in an allotted and timely manner. Supervise and assist in the performance of a variety of skilled work in the operation, maintenance and repair of boiler, heating, air conditioning, ventilating, lighting, power, water, water treatment, and other mechanical systems normally found in a hospital; instruct or lead other technicians; instruct or lead contract workers; and do other related work. Provide security related duties M-F during daylight hours. Assist in the "On Call" rotation and respond to emergency repairs. Work Hours Full Time, M-F to include various on‑call hours.
