Nurse Specialist- Angio for VIR on the Day Shift

Stamford Health is hiring a PER DIEM Nurse Specialist- Angio for VIR on the Day Shift!

This position is PER DIEM, with a minimum requirement of 6 shifts per 6-week schedule, 12 hours must be weekend hours.

Responsibilities:

1. Assess patient's physical and psychosocial condition throughout the continuum of care.
2. Provide care for patients pre, intra and post procedures for all cardiac and vascular procedures
3. Develop and communicate patient plan of care reflecting patient issues and proposed interventions to achieve desired patient outcome
4. Collaborate with patient, family and healthcare team in implementing plan of care
5. Evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of plan of care and readiness for discharge and/or continuing care. Revise plan of care as needed and appropriately refer for additional services where indicated.
6. Provide education as indicated after assessing the learning needs of the patient and family.
7. Participate in and support performance improvement and risk management activities.
8. Act as preceptor to new staff when requested.
9. Responsible for taking on call per department's needs.
10. Proficient in the management patients undergoing cardiac, peripheral vascular and Interventional Radiology procedures.
11. Proficient in the management of elective and emergency procedures.
12. Basic Electrophysiology.
13. Competent in the administration of Moderate sedation
14. Competent in utilizing the Hemodynamic System for monitoring and documentation purposes.
15. Competent in the use of the AVOX, ACT machine and the Balloon Pump.
16. Maintain par levels of supplies collaborative with Cardiovascular Technologists.
17. Competent in the use of IVUS
18. Competent in the use of Pressure Wire (FFR)

Qualifications:

1. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
2. Valid license as Registered Nurse in Connecticut.
3. BCLS and ACLS required
4. Moderate Sedation
5. Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience.
6. Maintain a minimum of 6 contact hours annually.
