Phlebotomy Technician 5501This is a temporary job position with the potential for becoming permanent. Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation.DescriptionThe primary role of a phlebotomist is to aid in executing assigned tasks, resolving issues, providing training, and suggesting workflow improvements.ResponsibilitiesPerforming blood draws, labeling samples, centrifuging specimens, maintaining records, updating patient data, etc. Ensuring proper collection and storage of specimens following set guidelines. Clearly and courteously explaining the venipuncture process and other specimen collection procedures as needed. Proficient in using straight needles and butterfly needles. Understanding and implementing physician’s orders. Matching requisition forms to specimen tubes. Packaging and storing specimens correctly for transportation. Compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations. Attending departmental trainings annually. Handling inquiries and reading results over the phone.Minimum RequirementsValid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment (if required). At least six months of experience in high-paced lab or hospital venipuncture. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
