The staff nurse delivers comprehensive nursing care to patients across all stages of life, employing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. This role operates within the organization's established policies and procedures while demonstrating professional development and accountability. The staff nurse is tasked with upholding practice standards and coordinating the patient care activities of all assigned personnel to ensure high-quality nursing services.

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
• A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.

• No prior experience is necessary; new nursing graduates are welcome.
• Experience in a hospital environment is preferred.
• For PRN positions, at least one year of hospital experience is required.

• Current RN - Registered Nurse license in Georgia or NLC/eNLC multistate license is required.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support certification is required.

• Advanced certification in a specialty area, if applicable (refer to addendum).

• Cardiac Tele: ACLS Certification is required (Nurse Residents or new specialty nurses must complete this within 6 months of starting).
• Critical Care: ACLS Certification is required (Nurse Residents or new specialty nurses must complete this within 6 months of starting).
• Dialysis: CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate) is preferred.
• Emergency Department: ACLS and PALS Certifications are required (Nurse Residents or new specialty nurses must complete this within 6 months of starting; experienced Emergency Department nurses have 6 months to obtain PALS certification).
• Infusion/Oncology: Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification is required prior to independent chemotherapy administration.
• Pediatrics: Identification and reporting of high-risk situations, including abuse or neglect, are essential. PALS Certification is required at specific locations (Nurse Residents or new specialty nurses must complete this within 6 months of starting).
• Surgical Services: ACLS Certification is required for PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU ; PALS is required if the unit cares for pediatric patients (Nurse Residents or new specialty nurses must complete this within 6 months of starting). BLS is required for the OR within 180 days.
• Women’s Services: Various certifications are required, including ACLS for Labor and Delivery and NRP for multiple areas, to be completed by the end of the orientation period.
