We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietary Cook to join our team at Milford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Responsibilities:

• Prepare food in accordance with health regulations and established policies and procedures

• Review menus, production guides, and facility diet guidelines to ensure appealing and appetizing meals

• Assist in the ordering process, taking inventory of food and supplies under the direction of the food service director

• Follow the directives of the department director, maintaining a professional and positive rapport with facility staff

• Ensure meals prepared are palatable, visually appealing, and appropriate for the population's needs

• Utilize standard recipes and follow menu extensions

• Participate in the preparation and distribution of resident snacks

• Maintain and record food temperatures and follow HACCP guidelines as designated by the food service director

• Use correct utensils and ensure portions are correct

• Record temperature and equipment logs as designated by the food service director

• Participate in facility and department in-service programs

• Promote kitchen sanitation with clean-as-you-go practices and adherence to department cleaning lists

• Promote teamwork and contribute to an orderly dining service department

• Adhere to all department and facility safety guidelines, including knife safety, non-slip footwear, and proper safe utilization of equipment

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Previous long-term care experience preferred

• Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to work extended hours standing, walking, and regularly lifting items up to 50 pounds
