Skilled Nursing Facility Rounder - Physician

Overview Carle Health is seeking a BE/BC Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine physician to join our established practice in Urbana, Illinois. Opportunity Details Join four Geriatricians who support nursing home rounds, along with 7 APPs and 3 full‑time nursing staff. Primary responsibilities include overseeing patient care at area nursing homes in post‑acute care, long‑term care, and assisted living/memory care. Planned schedule is Monday– Friday, 8 a.m.– 5 p.m. Family Medicine or Internal Medicine candidates with significant Geriatrics experience or a Fellowship trained Geriatrician candidate are welcome to apply. Hospital practice is not required. Work in close collaboration with the APP team to manage patients’ needs. Physicians will be on call for their nursing home patients during the workday week as needed; APPs handle the majority of calls. Physicians rotate “MD Backup Call” between the four Geriatricians serving as a resource to APPs as needed for nights and weekends. Service uses an electronic medical record also utilized by local area hospitals. Part‑time positions are available. Opportunity for academic and/or research affiliation with the Carle Illinois College of Medicine. Opportunity to teach Internal Medicine residents with the Carle Internal Medicine Residency Program. Optional opportunity to moonlight with Carle’s urgent care for extra income. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $310,000–$315,000. This represents a good‑faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will depend on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
