Job Title: Completion Tech

Unit: Health Information Management

Shift: Afternoon-Evenings(Full-Time 3:00 p.m.-11:30 p.m)

Facility: Miami Valley Hospital-Main

Under general supervisor, preps, scans, and validates all types of paper documents into optical scanning system to obtain chart completion. Scans & validates all loose reports that are sent to the department. Responsible for analyzing medical records for deficiencies in chart documentation. Responsible for release of information for continuity of care requests. Assures that guidelines of HIPAA are followed to reduce the hospital's potential liability in releasing records or protected health information. Responsible for processing request for government audit and specialized chart reviews (UVMC only). Responsible for monitoring incomplete charts and follow up with physicians. Responsible to analyze records to conduct regulatory documentation audits. Responsible for following guidelines of JC and Conditions of Participations and all federal and state laws. Responsible to perform other duties as assigned and needed.

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Medical Terminology

Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience
Prior job title or occupational experience: Medical Office
Prior specific functional responsibilities: N/A
Preferred experience: Health Information or related medical field, Knowledge of Word & Excel.
Other experience requirements: Medical Terminology or currently enrolled in a medical terminology course.
