Building Inspector II Or Building Inspector III
Polk County (OR) is recruiting to fill one (1) position consisting of either a Building Inspector II or a Building Inspector III. The job involves inspecting residential buildings and plans for compliance with the County building, mechanical, and zoning codes. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Minimum qualifications include graduation from high school or successful completion of the equivalent GED. Necessary special qualifications include possessing the following Oregon Certificates: Oregon Inspector Certification (OIC), Residential Inspector Certification (CAS), Residential Plans Examiner Certification (CAX), Residential Plumbing Inspector (CAP), and A Level Structural Inspector (SIA) at time of hire. Preference is given to those who also possess State of Oregon Certificates for A Level Electrical Inspector, A Level Mechanical Inspector (MIA), or A Level Plumbing Inspector. Candidates must also have the ability to obtain A Level Plans Examiner (PEA) Certification within 12 months of hire and possess a valid Oregon driver's license at time of appointment.
