Our challenge

We’re seeking a Java Developer with experience building enterprise applications and implementing business rules. Banking or financial services experience is preferred.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $110k - $120k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Java/Spring Boot applications and REST APIs.
• Design, implement, and integrate business rules using platforms such as Drools, Red Hat Decision Manager, IBM ODM, or Camunda DMN.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA, and product teams.
• Write automated tests, participate in code reviews, and troubleshoot production issues.
• Support Agile delivery and CI/CD practices.

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, SQL, and relational databases.
• Hands-on experience with a business rules engine or decision-management platform.
• Experience with Git, Maven or Gradle, and JUnit.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills:

• Banking, financial services, fintech, or payments.
• Lending, credit decisioning, fraud, AML/KYC, risk, compliance, or transaction processing.
• Microservices, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and CI/CD.
• Secure API development and OAuth2/JWT
