Freight Broker/Dispatcher

Our client in Glen Rock, NJ is looking to hire an experienced freight broker to work in Glen Rock, NJ. This is a direct hire opportunity. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5pm. Salary: BOE Responsibilities Perform freight services according to company and government regulations. Create, coordinate, and manage pick-up and delivery schedules, coordinating with shippers, carriers, dispatchers, and customers. Monitor all routes and schedule backhauls with same trucks to utilize max. cost of the daily route. Track and report shipment status of loads. Book orders with carriers and assist in preparation for loading. Coordinate logistics for projects coming from multiple customer sites and vendors. Manage multiple deliveries, process spot requests, and develop new sales strategies to generate new leads, improve business, and develop a sales pipeline. Identify safe carriers for freight services, develop business relationships with carrier contacts, and provide current and prospective customers with shipping quotes. Maintain strong relationships with multiple carriers. Maintain accurate records of all activity, ensuring freight paperwork is complete and approved prior to transportation. Resolve freight discrepancies and keep relevant parties apprised. Respond to customer concerns and queries in a timely, professional manner. Remain abreast of emerging market trends.
