Registered Nurse

Job Overview We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Nursing team. The role provides therapeutic nursing care to children, adolescents, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and dual diagnoses in residential (group home) settings located in the Red Hook and Tivoli, NY area. Responsibilities Maintain standards of developmental disabilities nursing practice. Keep current healthcare information for program participants. Ensure medications are administered as prescribed. Supervise Approved Medication Administration Personnel (AMP) and maintain their certification per regulations and agency policy. Assist participants with daily activities and support long‑term goal attainment. Qualifications Licensed as an RN in the state of New York. One year of nursing experience preferred; new graduates welcome. Valid NY driver’s license. Flexible, patient, energetic, creative, and have a sense of humor. Strong passion for working with and helping children and adults with special needs. Physical Requirements Pre‑employment physical assessment is required. The position requires significant and frequent walking, sitting, stooping, bending, and standing. Frequent outside activities may expose the employee to sunlight and heat. Speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate at normal volumes. Vision adequate for reading, computer work, forms, etc. Good manual dexterity is required. Benefits Paid orientation.
