Licensed Practical Nurse - Med 3 (3400/3500) Nights

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

• Bed Numbers: 18

• Nurse to Patient Ratio: Blended unit some med surg 6:1, step down 4:1

• Patient Population: Primarily step-down patients, cardiac drips set rates, post procedural patients, cardioversions, bipap, airvo, chest tubes, post pacemakers BLS/ACLS/NIHSS common diagnosis of CHF, COPD, CKD

3500 Details:

• Bed Numbers: 26

• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 4:1 possible 5:1

• Patient Population: stepdown patients cardiac drips set rates, cardiac drips set rates, post procedural patients, cardioversions, bipap, airvo, chest tubes, post pacemakers BLS/ACLS/NIHSS common diagnosis of CHF, COPD, CKD

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program (or equivalent experience with licensure).

• Licensure: Current LPN license in the state of practice; must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.

• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – required within 30 days of hire.

  • Additional certifications may be required based on unit (ACLS, PALS, PEARS, S.T.A.B.L.E., IV Certification within 1 year).
