Certified CVOR Surgical Technologist

Join our team in Madison, WI, where you will function as an integral member of a cardiac surgical team. You will assist physicians and nurses in the operating room during complex cardiac, thoracic, and transplant procedures. You will prepare the operating room, ensure sterile technique, handle specialized cardiac and thoracic equipment, and support patient safety throughout perioperative care. Your contributions will support high-acuity cases at a level I teaching hospital.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Successful completion of a surgical technologist program or equivalent demonstrated experience. Completion of an accredited program is preferred.
• 2 years of scrub experience required.
• Experience in cardiac/thoracic surgery required. Strong skills in ECMO, CABG, LVAD, thoracic procedures, mitral valve, VATS, lobectomy, lung resection, and use of robotic systems such as Da Vinci Xi preferred.
• Transplant experience (kidney and liver) required.
• Teaching hospital (Level I) experience required.
• Tracheostomy procedure experience required.
• AHA BLS certification required.

Preferred Qualifications

• NBSTSA certification preferred.
• Prior CVOR technologist experience in a high-volume cardiac program preferred.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 10:40 to 23:10.
• Schedule pattern: 3x12-hour shifts per week.
• Tier 2 cardiac assignment with primary focus on cardiac and thoracic procedures.
• Must be able to work in a teaching, Level I hospital environment and participate in specialty case types listed in minimum qualifications.
