Sr Security Solutions Architect - Presales (Req#1342)

Overview*Hybrid-Remote Opportunity - Candidates must be geographically located in or near Dallas or Houston, Texas*The Senior Security Solutions Architect / Presales Engineer will support ePlus sales on complex, multi-vendor security and infrastructure opportunities. You will own the technical side of the deal: discovery, architecture, demos, configurations, proposals, and SOWs — working side-by-side with account teams from qualification through close.Your ImpactWHAT YOU’LL DO:Own the Technical SaleAct as the technical security lead and trusted advisor to ePlus account teams and customer stakeholders on your focus areaRun discovery to capture business and technical requirements, then recommend the ePlus solution (hardware, software, and services)Design and document solution architecture, detailed configurations, and bills of materials (BOMs). Build and deliver customer-facing presentations, proposals, and recommended-solution reviews.Lead technical scoping sessions for Statements of Work on simple and complex installation, configuration and day-2/managed deals.Author the technical sections of RFP / RFI / RFQ responsesWin With the Sales TeamPartner with AEs on account and opportunity planning — qualification, technical strategy, and competitive positioningServe as SME for customer technical staff on design, configuration, implementation, and test approachWork as ePlus’s technical liaison with OEM field sales and in-house systems engineering teams (e.g. Cloud, Network, etc) in the region.Support deal strategy when technical objections or customer-satisfaction issues threaten the recommended approachStay Current and Raise the BarKeep OEM certifications current for your assigned practice areas and vendors, based on your stated interests and achievements.Share product updates, design patterns, and lessons learned with other solutions architects and deliveryFlag new products or services that ePlus should evaluate as practice investmentsSuggest process improvements that make regional presales faster and more consistentKeep the Engine RunningMaintain pipeline notes: forecast revenue, win probability, and expected close on a weekly cadenceJoin weekly presales engineering calls and complete expenses / time / CRM admin on timeRun and participate in ePlus-branded lunch-and-learn type activities and events, and represent ePlus solutions while having fun with our customers!QualificationsCollege degree or equivalent applicable work experience2+ years of experience in designing or implementing complex network or systems/storage solutions3+ years of experience in providing pre-sales engineering supportDeep expertise in Network Security with hands-on experience supporting and/or architecting solutions on at least one leading platform (e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, or similar)Strong Endpoint Security experience with proficiency in one or more industry-leading solutions (e.g., SentinelOne, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender, or equivalent)Proven success selling IT Security Services, including the ability to discuss sales performance metrics such as quotas, attainment, and contribution to revenue growthDemonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a small, high-performing team environment (2–3 team members) while partnering closely with sales representatives and sales leadership to develop and execute against customer security initiatives and budget objectivesExperience engaging with management and executive-level stakeholders on strategic security topics, including Zero Trust, cybersecurity frameworks, and regulatory/compliance requirements (e.g., NIST 800, SOX, GLBA, CIS Controls, and related standards)Excellent oral, written and presentation skills Strong attention-to-detailRelevant industry certifications in applicable technologies are preferred (e.g., Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto Networks, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Security, CISSP, or equivalent)Core Keywords & Competencies:Presales Security Solutions, Security Sales Engineering, Security Sales Engineer, Security Solutions, Security Solutioning, Security Solutions Consulting, Security Solutions Engineer, Security Presales Consultant, Security Pre-Sales Consultant, Design, Architect, Architecture, Customer-facing, Customer Facing, Customer Solutions, Solution Consulting, Technical Sales, Pre Sales, Presales, Pre-sales, Sales Engineering, VAR, Value Added Reseller, Reseller, Security Integrator, Integrator, Technical Discovery, Product Demonstrations, Proof of Concept, POC, Proof of Value, POV, Statement of Work, SOW, Request for Proposal, RFP, Request for Information, RFI, Request for Quote, Request for Quotation, RFQPosition SpecificsThe base salary range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $120,000 and $170,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions and discretionary bonuses, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and personal leave), dependent on the position offered.
