Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:

Experienced ICU Nurse needed for a high-acuity, 16-bed unit in a Level II Trauma center, with extensive critical care responsibilities including neuro, trauma, and post-surgical patients. The role requires adaptability and proficiency with advanced ICU procedures and titratable drips.

Responsibilities:

• Manage critically ill patients with complex diagnoses such as neuro, trauma, sepsis, and cardiac emergencies.
• Perform bedside procedures including trach placements, CT insertions, and arterial line insertions.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips; respond promptly to changes.
• Titrate drips including sedatives, pressors, and anti-arrhythmics according to protocols.
• Collaborate with hospitalist/ intensivist staff and utilize bedside equipment efficiently.
• Document patient status and interventions accurately in electronic medical records.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with ICU experience in Level I or II Trauma centers preferred.
• Demonstrated competency in neuro, trauma, and critical patient care procedures.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred.
• Experience with CRRT, sheath pulls, and titratable drips highly desirable.
• Ability to interpret telemetry strips and manage complex ICU equipment.
• Prior experience in a hospital with over 300 beds and high-acuity patient load.
