Electrical Engineer — Renewable Fuels & Decarbonization Location: Greenville, SC or Dallas, TX Employment type: Full-time or part time About Gross & Co Gross & Co is a Dallas‑based engineering and project‑delivery firm focused on renewable fuels, waste‑to‑value, and decarbonization. We support developers, owners, and EPC partners across renewable natural gas (RNG), anaerobic digestion, biomass‑to‑power, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), low‑carbon hydrogen, and carbon capture — from front‑end loading (FEL) and front‑end engineering design (FEED) through due diligence, estimating, and construction support. The Opportunity We are hiring an Electrical Engineer to support electrical and controls design for industrial process plants. You will work directly with clients and the process team, turning design intent and markups into clean, usable electrical deliverables. What You’ll Do Develop and review electrical deliverables: single‑line diagrams, load lists, motor lists, I/O lists, panel schedules, and electrical equipment lists. Support electrical design basis, equipment sizing, and cable/conduit routing. Prepare area classification, grounding and bonding, and interconnection concepts. Review P&IDs and equipment lists to confirm power, control, and signal requirements. Coordinate electrical/controls interfaces with process, mechanical, civil, and vendor packages. Evaluate vendor packages (switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, motors, transformers, generators) and consolidate technical comments. Support estimating with material takeoffs and equipment quantity checks. Support construction with RFIs, submittal review, and field coordination as needed. Raise scope gaps, missing inputs, and coordination issues early. What We’re Looking For Required B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field. Ability to read P&IDs, single‑line diagrams, vendor drawings, and engineering markups. Working understanding of MCCs, VFDs, motors, low‑voltage power distribution, and industrial I/O. Comfort with AutoCAD and with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word, and PDF markups. Strong written and spoken English and clear, proactive communication. For experienced candidates 20+ years of industrial electrical design/engineering experience. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E, and U.S. industrial electrical practice. For early‑career candidates Internship or co‑op experience in industrial, energy, or utility settings a plus. Preferred (any level) Experience in RNG, biogas, wastewater, chemical process, or utility systems. AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, or SKM experience.
