The Starbucks Barista is responsible for creating an exceptional guest experience by providing quality beverages, food products, and customer service in a fast-paced convention center environment. This position serves convention attendees, exhibitors, guests, and employees while maintaining Starbucks brand standards, cleanliness, and operational excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve Starbucks beverages and food items according to company recipes and standards.
• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting guests, answering questions, and resolving concerns professionally.
• Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems and accurately process cash, credit card, and mobile transactions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked caf environment.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines at all times.
• Restock inventory, supplies, and merchandise as needed.
• Assist with opening, closing, and shift change procedures.
• Monitor product quality and report equipment or inventory issues to management.
• Work efficiently during high-volume events, conventions, and peak business periods.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and event schedules.
• Previous Starbucks, coffee shop, food service, or retail experience.
• POS system experience.
• Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
• TABC Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shift.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive motions.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures around food preparation equipment.
