Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in the ED for a broad range of ages, including neonatal to geriatric, with common presentations such as stroke, sepsis, trauma, MI, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.
- Perform triage, initial patient assessment, ongoing monitoring, medication administration, and support for procedures; ensure timely and accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians, residents, and other members of the ED team to manage patient flow, coordinate care transitions, and support patient and family education.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort through adherence to infection control practices, pain management guidelines, and clinical protocols; respond to emergencies and code situations as part of the ED team.
- Manage unit duties including patient acuity assessment, order entry, and documentation in the electronic medical record (EPIC); participate in unit coverage and floating as needed.
- Demonstrate charge-capability when assigned, with the ability to supervise and mentor junior staff as needed.

Requirements
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York; Nursys verification required; RTO (return-to-work time-off) requests must be included at submission.
- Certifications: Current American Heart Association (AHA) required certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC.
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of ED experience; pediatric exposure preferred; travel experience required.
- EMR: Proficiency with EPIC EMR system required.
- Other: Willingness to float within the ED as needed; local candidates within 75 miles may be eligible for local pay rates.
