Job Summary Manually inspects completed plastics parts and packs them into boxes for shipping. Seals boxes, prints labels and stacks full boxes on pallets. May operate machines and train Inspector/Packer I’s. Operates in a safe manner and keeps work area clean and organized. Responsibilities In-process inspection – frequent examination of the visual attributes of each product (e.g., discoloration, shorts, burns, contamination sinks, splay, delamination). Records data – document information regarding the product or the performance of duties as required by management. Packing – transfer products from catch bins or boxes into shipping containers, transport to the shipping area, weigh, affix correct labels using SAP, supply new or used boxes to molding presses, and stack finished product correctly on pallets. Maintains work area – keep production and packing area clean, sweep floors, remove stray molded parts, clean up dust, grease, oil spills, and leaks. Operates machines – operation of manually operated molding presses, removing molded product and/or runners from the mold, packing product in bags, boxes or trays, placing inserts into molds, and performing secondary operations such as reaming, trimming, facing, and hot stamping. May train new Inspector/Packer I employees. Sorts and reworks – sort and/or rework products that do not conform to customer requirements, document and label non-conforming items, and process sampling and gauging of reject product. Fosters teamwork – develop and maintain good working relationships with all departments. Completes all required training as assigned. Conducts all job functions in a safe manner and complies with all applicable state and federal safety and environmental regulations utilizing appropriate safety equipment. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Average or better math skills. Ability to spend long hours walking and standing. Good color perception and manual dexterity. Ability to safely lift up to 35 lbs. Ability to work well with others at all levels. Ability to work in an orderly, logical manner while paying attention to each detail of responsibility. Verbal and written communication skills with good command of English. Proficiency in personal computers and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SAP and e‑mail skills preferred.
