Maintenance Supervisor

Maintenance SupervisorThe Maintenance Supervisor will oversee skilled-hourly employees in a manufacturing environment while maintaining a strong, hands-on presence on the production floor. This role plans and assigns work, enforces policies and procedures, and actively supports complex troubleshooting and problem resolution to quickly restore equipment to operational status. Responsible for the scheduling and continuous improvement of preventive and predictive maintenance systems to support efficient manufacturing operations, including enhancing system effectiveness, tracking, and execution. Will supervise 7–8 employees.Your Responsibilities:Provides employee coaching and development and resolves employee issues through problem resolutionEvaluates and improves maintenance performance by reducing downtime through proactive problem solving, including direct involvement in complex equipment issues when neededBalances safety, quality, productivity, cost, and morale to achieve positive results in all areasDrives continuous improvement across maintenance systems, processes, and equipment reliability with a focus on proactive issue preventionManages and sustains proper WPO to ensure safe and efficient operationsExhibits flexibility to accommodate continuous improvement initiatives for internal customersManages departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to managerOther duties as assignedMaintains an active floor presence and provides hands-on support for advanced troubleshooting and critical equipment failures to ensure timely restoration of operationsOwns the effectiveness of the preventive and predictive maintenance program, including improving PM quality, standardization, and complianceEnhances maintenance systems and tools to improve tracking, reporting, and overall PM execution effectivenessLet's Talk About Your Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree preferredWorking knowledge of: Hydraulic and pneumatic systems, press maintenance, overhead hoist systems, industrial controls, 3 phase 480 voltage circuitsProficiency in Microsoft Office, Kronos, and SAP (preferred)2 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environmentMust have experience using tools of lean manufacturingMust be a good communicator (verbal and written)Must be critical thinker, enthusiastic and have positive approach towards employeesStrong interpersonal and communication skillsProject management is beneficialPreferred -- Electrical certification, hydraulic certification, and experience with "Predictive Maintenance" MethodsDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment issues in a manufacturing environmentExperience developing or improving preventive maintenance systems, with focus on effectiveness and trackingLeadership Attributes:At Wabash, we pride ourselves on being empowering, and there are some things we feel very strongly about:Embrace Diversity and Inclusion – Solicit and respect the input of others, celebrate differences, and strive for transparency and inclusivenessSeek to Listen – Actively listen to reach the best solution and make the strongest decisionsAlways Learn – Strive to improve; do not quit or settle for the status quoBe Authentic – Demonstrate honesty, incredible energy, and grit in everything you doWin Together – Collaborate, seek alignment, and excel at cross-group communication to success as one team and One WabashJoin us in turning ideas into world-changing realities.
