Key Responsibilities of the RN – Labor and Delivery:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to mothers during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period
Monitor maternal and fetal well-being using advanced assessment and fetal monitoring techniques
Assist obstetricians, midwives, and healthcare providers during vaginal and cesarean deliveries
Administer medications, IV therapies, and pain management interventions as prescribed
Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies and implement appropriate interventions
Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, newborn care, and postpartum recovery
Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery RN experience
Active Kansas RN license or Compact RN License
BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring certifications required
Strong knowledge of obstetric nursing practices and maternal-fetal care
Experience managing high-risk pregnancies and labor complications preferred
Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills
Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced environment
